Brand representation. VELTIUM calls for distributors to offer its chargers in Latin America.

The Spanish company, leader in the development and manufacture of charging solutions for electric vehicles, is looking to establish strategic alliances with local distributors and installers to move forward with investments in the region. What markets are you targeting for your POINT and LITE lines?

VELTIUMa Spanish company specialized in the development, manufacture and commercialization of charging solutions for electric vehicles, will offer the LITE line, oriented to domestic charging and POINTdesigned for companies and public use environments.

This was reported by its CEO, David García, in an interview with Mobility Portal Latinoamérica.

What is the profile of the ideal partner for VELTIUM?

At this point, the executive details three types of profiles for its brand representatives: distributors, large installers and electrical companies.

The first corresponds to the classic distributor of electrical equipment, interested in offering its customers a wide range of products, including electric vehicle charging equipment.

In second place are the large installers, who have the capacity to manage a high volume of installations and maintain a direct relationship with the manufacturer.

Finally, the countries' electricity companies and utilities , which wish to diversify their business activities by offering their customers comprehensive electricity charging solutions for homes and businesses, complementing their gas or electricity services.

What are the products that VELTIUM will bring to Latin America like?

The lines LITE y POINT lines that it plans to introduce in the region feature universal chargers compatible with all electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the market.

LITE is focused on the domestic segment with a compact and functional design.

It has three chargers adapted to different needs: Zero with a power of 7.4 kW and Bluetooth; Unowhich adds Wi-Fi, Modem and Ethernet connectivity; and Kubo with all of the above and 22 kW.

On the other hand, POINT is oriented to companies and public use environments, prepared for optimum performance even in the most demanding conditions.

It also features three models: Dot with wall mounting and a maximum power of 7.4 kW (single-phase) or 22 kW (three-phase); Twin adds a double wall-mounted socket and, finally, Max, which differs in that it is anchored to the floor.

"Our products are technologically designed for a global environment. They are prepared for all voltage ranges that exist in the world's electrical distribution networks," says VELTIUM's CEO.

According to García-Pardo, there is no technical requirement for hardware adaptations.

Although some countries may require specific certifications, the product itself, from its conception, is ready to be marketed in Latin America without any problem.

In this case, the products will only have to pass the certification process, which guarantees their compatibility and safety in the region.

"At the moment we have very advanced contacts in Colombia, Chile, Cuba and Brazil," he says.

The success of its products in Spain was the starting point to expand its frontiers to another continent and transfer its extensive experience.

"Each market is unique. It is important to go hand in hand with a local partner who knows exactly how the product is marketed, what the needs are and what the most appropriate channels are," he explains.

What makes VELTIUM a "unique proposition" compared to its competitors?

Living up to its motto "Keep it simple", David García-Pardo emphasizes that VELTIUM products are designed to give "zero problems" to the installer and to be easy to use for the user.

In that sense, the CEO assures that "reliability and robustness" differentiates them from their competitors.

It is worth noting that the company is the developer of all the hardware and the operating system used in its equipment.

"We take care of the entire ecosystem of the freight solution. This allows us to adapt to new business models or new regulations," he says of the lead they have over other companies.

Although VELTIUM will continue to manufacture and operate from Spain, García-Pardo says that 97% of the interactions they have with their customers are resolved remotely.

In the opposite case, if any kind of intervention by the installer is required, which he estimates to be 3% of the cases, "there is no need to replace components, if something fails, we change the charger directly".

This policy is attributed to the fact that the failure rate is "very low".

On the corporate side, a segment where the chargers are more complex because they include displays and readers, they aim to have "local agreements" for small assistance.
